Jenny Clary
Jenny is a 500-hour certified yoga instructor and a Level II iRest® Yoga Nidra Teacher-in-Training. Always a student, Jenny is committed to continuous learning to inform both her personal practice and her teaching. She completed her first 200-hr. certification in 2013 and has since trained under local and international yoga and mindfulness teachers, including Annie Carpenter, Richard Miller, Ph.D., John Friend, Desi Springer, Heather Peterson, and more.
Jenny has nurtured a long love affair with movement and the body as a means of creative and emotional expression. She came to yoga looking for relief from chronic physical pain issues and to find a quieter place in her mind during difficult times. What she found on her mat, she strives to cultivate in her students: the tools to move more mindfully both on the mat and in their daily lives. Integrating breath, movement, philosophy, and humor, Jenny’s classes offer a safe and playful environment for her students to engage in deep, curious self-inquiry and develop first hand knowledge of themselves.
Jenny received her Master’s in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago specializing in community development, and has experience in social, environmental, and reproductive justice efforts. These days, teaching yoga and meditation is what brings Jenny closest to the change she hopes to help create in the world.
